Adventurers Week 2016

CAMPERS WHO CAN ATTEND:

Young adults with physical disabilities. Campers this week may also have a developmental disability or be on target with their chronological age. Most campers this week will use a wheelchair, braces and/or a walker. They must be able to tolerate outdoor activities well.

CAMPERS WHO CANNOT ATTEND: 

Campers with any autism spectrum disorder as part of their diagnosis. For alternate weeks of camp, please contact our Registrar Kelli Hinderliter at 417.708.5298 or email kelli@campbarnabas.org.

CAMPER AGES:

Chronological ages 16 - 35.

SIBLINGS:

Siblings of campers do not attend this week at Teas Trail but those who are ages 7 - 18 may instead attend Barnabas on the Lake Navigators or Barnabas on the Lake Voyagers. Click here to view the 2016 Camper Schedule.

COUNSELOR TO CAMPER RATIO:

One counselor for every camper.

ACTIVITIES:

Swimming, field games, arts and crafts, canoeing, rifles, archery, fishing and other outdoor adventures. We have a fully accessible high ropes course. Campers utilize adaptive equipment and programming in all activities. Campers in this program must qualify for some activities and not all campers will be able to participate in all activities.

LOCATION:

Our camp is located at 901 Teas Trail 2060, Purdy, MO 65734

COST FOR CAMPERS:

$695 tuition plus a $55 non-refundable registration fee

SCHOLARSHIPS:

Scholarship funds are available for our campers but they are limited. Our board requires everyone to pay a portion of their camper fee. You may request a scholarship during the application process and, once your application has been processed, we will contact you regarding alternate funding sources. For questions about scholarships, please contact Kelli at kelli@campbarnabas.org or at 417-708-5298.

PAYMENT DEADLINE:

Your $55 registration fee (paid during the online application process) holds your position at camp. All remaining camp fees to be paid by April 1, 2016. If there are still openings after April 1st, and you register after that time, adjustments can be made. Payments may be made online at www.campbarnabas.org/makeapayment or by mailing a check to P O Box 3200, Springfield, MO 65808. If you pay by check, please be sure to note whether you are paying for a camper or missionary and put that person's name on the check.

CAMPER CANCELLATION POLICY:

Should you cancel your camp registration after May 1st of the year that you are to attend, all monies paid for camper tuition will be transferred to future year’s balances for camp. All campers who are a no-show for the term they are registered for and their parent or guardian does not notify Camp Barnabas before opening day for the term their camper is attending, no refunds and no transfers will be granted.
