National - Deer Creek

WHO CAN ATTEND:

Children to young adults with chronic disease (AIDs, hemophilia, sickle cell, Crohn's, cancer, cranio-facial syndromes, diabetes and others), children and young adults are blind and/or deaf/hearing impaired. Also children with Asperger's (no PDD or ODD). The camper's mental age must be within 1-2 years of their chronological age. If your child thrives in smaller groups with less chaos and less noise, this program will work well for them. They must also be able to tolerate outdoor activities.

 

WHO CANNOT ATTEND: 

Anyone who requires the use of a wheelchair or walker for anything other than to prevent exhaustion. See www.campbarnabas.org/physical for alternate programs.

 

AGES:

Chronological ages 7 through 18.

COUNSELOR TO CAMPER RATIO:

One counselor for every two campers with select campers having 1:1 ratio.

 

ACTIVITIES:

Swimming, barn swing, zip line, rock wall, field games, arts and crafts, canoeing and other outdoor adventures .Campers utilize adaptive equipment and programming in all activities.

 

CAPACITY:

We only accept 80 campers at this week of camp.

 

LOCATION:

Deer Creek Adventure Camp, 494 Elm Creek Road, Medina, TX 78055

 

COST:

$700 tuition plus a $55 non-refundable registration fee

 

SCHOLARSHIP:

Scholarship funds are limited and our board requires everyone to pay a portion of their camper fee. You may request a scholarship during the application process. We also have information available on alternate funding sources.

 

PAYMENT DEADLINE:

Your $55 registration fee (paid during the online application process) holds your camper's position at camp. Camp fees are to be paid by April 1, 2012. Payments may be made online at www.campbarnabas.org/makeapayment. If arrangements have not been made for a camper's fee to be paid by April 1, 2012, their position at camp will be given to a camper on the waiting list.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If you cancel (in writing) due to medical reasons within 24 hours of the start of your child's camp, we will refund 100% of your camper fee. The $55 registration fee is non-refundable.
