Houston marathon fundraiser

Jason Barron is getting ready to put his feet to pavement in an effort to raise money for Camp Barnabas.

"The past 2 years I ran the Houston Half Marathon and so this year I have taken on the challenge to run the Houston Full Marathon," Jason says. "This marathon run is going to be a special run to me in more ways than one. Not only am I running a marathon for the first time but I'm running to raise money for Camp Barnabas."

Jason visited this unique program first-hand this summer after having worked with a special needs ministry at his church. "My week at Barnabas was a life-changing experience that's hard to describe. It was awesome to see God work in so many ways and to see the facial expressions of these youth as they went through the ropes course, fired riffles, and went camping under the stars. (Jason attended Term 6, a session that focuses on children with chronic illnesses.)

"Camp Barnabas has given me a new meaning on life, love and my relationship with God. So I'm hoping that by raising money for Camp Barnabas, I can do the same to someone else's life in return."
