Libby LaGarce - Camp Registrar

Libby's oldest daughter, Emily, brought her to camp. Emily has Down syndrome and hearing loss and came to the first year of camp - 1995. Eventually her other children, Hayley, Charley and Aubrey came as sibling campers and now volunteer at camp each summer. A special eduction teacher since 1988, Libby had been looking for a change but didn't want to leave her work with people with special needs. "This position at camp was a perfect fit," she says. "It's everything I love and close to my home."

Libby's husband is also involved with people with special needs, working as a special education teacher in Springfield. As if four children didn't keep them busy enough, he also coaches the Monett Thrashers Swim Team, manages the local pool in the summer and Libby continues her work as a licensed massage therapist. "I feel so blessed to be on board at this wonderful place," Libby shares.
