My name is Rhonda Francka, and this summer will be my 8th year attending Camp Barnabas as a camper. I have Cerebral Palsy and use a power wheelchair to get around. When I go to Camp Barnabas I feel like my disability is left at the gate. At camp I go zip lining! I never thought it would be possible for me to go zipping. We have a saying and that is, "at Camp Barnabas nothing is impossible." It is an amazing feeling to be able to feel "normal".

One thing that Camp Barnabas has given me is a feeling of usefulness through the Ministry Partner program which allows campers to come back to camp to serve as volunteers.  We do jobs such as sorting and delivering the mail as well as helping with the nightly parties. One of my favorite things about being a ministry partner is helping the campers have the best time possible. I love encouraging campers to try new things. I love seeing a camper smile when they have tried something new and loved it.

One of the best things about Camp Barnabas is the friendships that I have made at camp. Last summer when my mom was really, really, really sick, my friends prayed with me.  When my mom passed away some of my friends came to see me. They don't forget you when camp is over. They are the best friends anyone could ever ask for!
