Summer 2012 Camps

NEW CAMPERS:

Each session of our camp is targeted to a specific group of diagnoses and ages. To determine the best week of camp for your child, please read through the "Choosing Which Camp Program Your Child Should Attend" below and follow the directions for your answers. Your choices will lead you to a page with a listing of all the camps available for your child. Click on the camp you wish to attend. Read through the information on that camp's page and, at the bottom, click the "Camper Registration" button to enter our online registration. After reviewing those weeks available to your child, if you have any questions about which program he/she should attend, contact our registrar, Sandy Smith, at 417.737.7076 or email sandy@campbarnabas.org.  NOTE:  If you are using Internet Explorer 9, you may encounter issues with our online registration program. Please use an alternate browser. If you are unsure how to do that, call our office (417.476.2565) between 9 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday and someone will be able to assist you.

Returning campers:

Our programs (formerly known as terms) have changed for Summer 2012. It is very important that you read through the section "Choosing Which Camp Program Your Child Should Attend" below to choose the week of camp that will offer the most enjoyment for your child. After reviewing those weeks available to your child, if you have any questions about which program he/she should attend, contact our registrar, Sandy Smith, at 417.737.7076 or email sandy@campbarnabas.org.

CHOOSING WHICH CAMP PROGRAM YOUR CHILD SHOULD ATTEND

Our activities are planned based on all the campers in a cabin participating. The questions below will direct you to the programs available for your camper.

No matter what other diagnosis your child may have, do they use a wheelchair, braces or walker for any reason? If yes, click here.

Does your child have any autism spectrum disorder diagnosis (except Asperger's) and does not use a wheelchair, braces or walker for any reason? Click here.

Does your child have Asperger's and does not use a wheelchair, braces or walker? Click here.

If your child has intellectual disabilities and does not have an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, Asperger's or use a wheelchair, braces or walker, click here.

If your child has any other diagnosis besides physical disability, autism spectrum disorder (except Asperger's) or intellectual disabilities, click here. These campers would be children with chronic diseases (AID's, hemophilia, sickle cell, Crohn's, cancer, cranio-facial syndrome, diabetes and others), blind, deaf/hard-of-hearing, and/or Asperger's (no PDD or ODD).

SIBLING PROGRAM:

Because we know that illness and physical/mental challenges affect the whole family, we also have a special program just for siblings. Siblings are housed with other same age sibling campers and spend their week with fun, challenging activities. The costs are the same for the siblings, and the parents get a “kid free” vacation during camp. Siblings are invited to attend select weeks of camp. As you review the descriptions of each camp available to your child with special needs, please note the availability of this program for his/her siblings.

For more information on our sibling program, go to www.campbarnabas.org/siblingprogram.
