Cole and Heidi Hamels Donate Home to Camp Barnabas

In December 2017, Professional baseball player Cole Hamels and wife Heidi donate 32,000 square foot home on Table Rock Lake to Camp Barnabas. The story was covered internationally, from Good Morning America to The Washington Post.

Cole was quoted as saying “There are tons of amazing charities in Southwest Missouri. Out of all of these, Barnabas really pulled on our heartstrings,” says Cole. “Seeing the faces, hearing the laughter, reading the stories of the kids they serve; there is truly nothing like it. Barnabas makes dreams come true, and we felt called to help them in a big way.”

This gift marked the largest donation in the history of Barnabas thus far.

“We can’t even begin to express how humbled and floored we are by this gift,” says Krystal Simon, Chief Development Officer. “It’s a game-changer for our organization and for all of the individuals who we serve. God is so good.”

Jordan Spieth Provides 100 Scholarships to Camp Barnabas Campers

In December 2017, Camp Barnabas received a major donation from Professional Golfer Jordan and the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation. The generous gift allowed 100 campers with special needs and chronic illnesses the ability to experience a life-changing week at camp.

“The [Jordan Spieth] Foundation saw a wonderful opportunity to partner with Camp Barnabas for multiple reasons; their focus on the family is exceptional, serving not only children with special needs but siblings as well. The Spieth sibling bond is incredibly special, and an experience that is very valuable. The accessibility component was incredibly impressive, with opportunities for these young campers to experience new, one-of-a-kind things.”
