Meet Our March Featured Friends

Camp BarnabasStories from Camp Barnabas

This month we want to highlight a few Barnabas friends who are doing amazing and inspirational things!

Lizzie Lalonde

Meet Lizzie LaLonde, a Camp Barnabas summer staff alumni, who recently hosted an Abilities Awareness Day earlier this year. She wanted to give students a chance to gain a new perspective and develop empathy for those who are different from each other. More than 235 students showed up and learned how they were more alike than different.

Thank you, Lizzie, for your continued work spreading awareness and helping those with disabilities!

Dustin Pryor

Earlier this year, Dustin Pryor, a long time camper at Camp Barnabas, garnered media attention for his unmatched commitment as a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Inspired by his fandom, the community in his town started a GoFundMe to get him to the Super Bowl. After his GoFundMe page went viral, Dustin Pyror achieved his dream and had the chance to watch The Chiefs win the Super Bowl in Miami. What a fun memory to think back on.

Congratulations, Dustin, on achieving your dream and thank you for inspiring so many with your enthusiasm!

Jordan Speith

Pro Golfer Jordan Speith, who supports Camp Barnabas through his foundation, was recently a recipient of the 2020 Arnie Award. This award seeks to recognize golfers who use their love of the game to help others through charitable work. This coveted award is one of the highest honors recognized by Golfer’s Digest.

Congratulations Jordan and thank you for your continued support of Camp Barnabas!

Jacob Murphy

Another summer staff alumni, Jacob Murphy, recently turned heads and chairs during his audition on The Voice. Singing Arethra Franklins “Until You Come Back To Me”, Jacob caught the attention of judge Blake Shelton, eventually joining his team and advancing to the next round.

Keep your eye out for Jacob as he continues his journey on the show. Good luck, Jacob!
